Lamb Legacy Lives!
Seminar and Celebration
Table Mountain Inn,
Golden, Colorado
*Memorial Day weekend, May 23-24, 2015
Warren Lamb (1923-2014) was internationally recognized for his unique melding of movement analysis and management consulting. Drawing on his studies with Rudolf Laban and collaboration with F.C. Lawrence (one of the first management consultants in England), Lamb developed Movement Pattern Analysis (MPA), an objective technique for assessing individual decision-making style. Lamb used the profiles produced through Movement Pattern Analysis to advise thousands of individuals and scores of companies, working with some clients for over three decades.
Lamb broke new ground by discovering links between patterns of body movement and cognitive processes involved in making decisions. He established ways of observing and interpreting movement behavior that have influenced other movement study pioneers such as Irmgard Bartenieff and Judith Kestenberg. His application of movement-based profiling, which encouraged self-reflection, tolerance, and appreciation of diversity, set a standard for principled practice.
This event provides an opportunity for the Laban community at large to explore the rich legacy of Warren Lamb. Through experiential sessions led by registered Movement Pattern Analysts who worked with Lamb, participants will be introduced to his key ideas and to how these are being used and developed today.
The seminar program will begin on Saturday afternoon, May 23, and continue all day Sunday, May 24. An opening reception on Saturday evening, along with a celebratory banquet on Sunday evening provide informal opportunities for collegial exchange.
*Golden is an historic town on the western side of Denver. The Table Mountain Inn is located in the center of Golden's walkable downtown, adjacent to eateries, shops, boutiques, galleries, museums, and the world's largest single-site brewery (Coors Beer).
